FAQ

What is davVero | kitchen & living room?

davVero is a Bolognese home where we cook together the true family cuisine.

You won't find chef uniforms or formal lectures here. You will prepare tagliatelle, tortellini, and ragù with your hands in the dough, in the kitchen of a real Bolognese home, as it has always been done: slowly, talking, laughing, and eating together.

It is the experience sought by travelers who want to take home not just a recipe, but a piece of authentic Bologna.

Will I really get my hands in the dough?

Yes, from the very first moment. You will never be a mere spectator: every guest has their own dedicated station and equipment. You will live the experience firsthand, feeling the texture of the pasta sheet and learning to create your fresh pasta with your own hands, starting from eggs and flour.

Do I already need to know how to cook?

Absolutely not. My experiences are designed for anyone who wants to learn, starting from the basics. You learn by doing, making a few mistakes and trying again, just as it happened in our grandmothers' kitchens. The only requirement is curiosity.

What exactly will I learn to cook?

Traditional Bolognese home cooking: fresh egg pasta, ragù, seasonal dishes, and recipes passed down through the family.

The dishes we prepare most often include:

  • Tagliatelle al ragù
  • Ricotta tortelloni or tortellini
  • Lasagna alla bolognese
  • Tiramisù

Every class can be customized based on the season and the group's preferences.

How long is the experience and what does it include?

About 4 hours of complete experience.

The right amount of time to cook without rushing, truly learn every step, and then sit at the table together to eat what you have prepared with your own hands.

The price includes everything: fresh ingredients, equipment, wine, coffee, and of course the lunch or dinner. You don't need to bring anything, just hunger and curiosity.

Do we eat what we cook?

Yes, always: it is the perfect crowning of the experience. We sit at the table together to share the result of our work, fully experiencing the conviviality that is the soul of Emilian culture.

Tasting what you have created with your own hands, discovering that you can recreate it at home for the people you love, transforms learning into pure satisfaction. It is in this moment that you truly feel part of our kitchen.

Why choose davVero?

Because it is an intimate and authentic experience, designed for those who want to experience Bolognese cuisine from the inside, not as a spectator. Here, time is shared, gestures are real, and the kitchen becomes a moment of profound connection, as has always happened in Emilian homes.

I don’t take you to a laboratory: I welcome you into my home, into my kitchen, into my Bologna. When you return home, you will carry with you not just the recipes, but the way we live the kitchen here: with calmness, respect, and love.

How many people can participate in the classes?

A maximum of 6 people.
I chose to welcome small groups to guarantee you more attention, more space, and an authentic atmosphere.

It is a size that allows for slow cooking and getting to know each other truly, just as it happens among friends, where every guest feels like the protagonist.

Is it suitable for children or families?

Regular classes are designed for adults and teenagers aged 12 and up. If you wish for an experience dedicated to families with younger children, I can organize personalized classes upon request with times and rhythms adapted to younger guests.

Is it possible to have a vegetarian menu or cater to allergies?

Certainly. Bolognese cuisine is rich and versatile, and my goal is to make every guest feel at home.

If you are vegetarian, have allergies, or follow a specific diet, please let me know at the time of booking. It will be a pleasure to adapt the recipes to ensure a safe and delicious experience.

Where exactly is davVero located?

In the heart of the historic center, at Piazza San Domenico 5.

We are 500 meters from Piazza Maggiore (7 minutes on foot) and 2 km from Bologna Central Station.

  • On foot: ideal if you are staying in the center.
  • By car: ex-Staveco parking 650 meters away.
  • By train: 25 minutes on foot or 10 minutes by bus from the station.
In what languages are the classes held?

I am a native Italian speaker and classes for foreign guests are held in English.

However, I like to introduce some Italian words and expressions related to the kitchen: learning to say "sfoglia," "mattarello," and "al dente" is part of the fun!

Is the experience accessible for people with reduced mobility?

Unfortunately not, I'm sorry. davVero is located on the second floor of a historic building without an elevator suitable for wheelchairs. If you have special needs, please contact me anyway: we will evaluate every possibility together.

How much does it cost to participate?

The experience costs between €60 and €100 per person, depending on the menu and type of class. The price includes 4 hours together, raw materials from local producers, equipment, and lunch or dinner accompanied by wine and coffee.

Once the date is agreed upon, I will ask you to make the payment to confirm the reservation: I can then reserve a spot for you in my living room and start organizing everything for your arrival. From that moment on, you won't have to think about anything but enjoying the experience.

Do I need to bring anything?

No, you don't need to think about anything. Ingredients, equipment, and aprons are all ready. Just bring your curiosity and a desire to get your hands floury!

How can I book and pay for my spot in the kitchen?

I love taking care of every detail from the very first contact. For this reason, I prefer to handle bookings personally: it allows me to get to know you better, understand your preferences, and ensure that the davVero experience is exactly as you wish.

You can message me on WhatsApp or via email to check availability. Once the date is confirmed, I will send you a secure link to complete the payment. You can choose your preferred method:

  • Satispay
  • Credit Card or PayPal (via a protected link, no PayPal account needed)
  • Bank Transfer (upon request)

It will be a pleasure to welcome you to my kitchen in Piazza S. Domenico.

Can I give a davVero experience as a gift?

Certainly! Gift cards are the perfect present for those who love authentic cuisine and have Bologna in their heart. You can gift a full course or an amount of your choice.

What is the cancellation policy?

I understand that plans can change and I always try to meet your needs. Since the organization and purchase of raw materials start in advance, I have defined this policy to protect both of us:

  • Up to 72 hours (3 days) before: full refund or reschedule.
  • Between 72 and 48 hours before: 50% refund.
  • Less than 48 hours or no-show: no refund.

For maximum clarity: if the class is on Saturday at 10:00 AM, you can cancel by Wednesday at 10:00 AM for a full refund. If you cannot participate, you can always give your spot to a friend. Message me as soon as possible and we will try to find the best solution together.

Is it possible to organize a private or customized course?

Yes, certainly. I can create tailor-made experiences for small groups (friends, families, or corporate teams), adapting the menu to your preferences or special occasions.

You can write to me at any time, before or after the class: I personally respond to every message because I want you to arrive in the kitchen with peace of mind and I want our connection to continue even after the table has been cleared.

Do we put fresh basil on top of the Bolognese ragù?

No. And if someone asks, we smile and talk about it together over a glass of wine.

The ragù has its rules, and fresh basil is not among them. But this question is always a great conversation starter!

Do you follow the recipes registered with the Chamber of Commerce?

In Bologna, many traditional recipes have been registered with the Chamber of Commerce as a cultural reference, and it is an important heritage. At the same time, every Bolognese family has its own version, passed down and adapted over generations.

At davVero, I cook according to this domestic tradition: an authentic Bolognese cuisine, made of gestures, memory, and daily practice. I respect the traditional foundations, but I live them with the freedom and love that belong to home cooking.

Are you a professional chef?

No, mine is a home-cooked cuisine, prepared with care and passion. I learned by watching the hands of my grandmothers and mother, and I have continued to experiment out of a pure love for the table.

I blend family tradition with curiosity gathered through travel, classes taken for pleasure, and everything I continue to discover by reading and tasting. This is how the soul of davVero was born: a living, personal, and deeply Bolognese kitchen. Authentic and spontaneous.
